The Hire Connection and the SuperBowl!

Yep - The Hire Connection team loves football!

We are excited to watch New England and Seattle battle it out for the NFL's biggest prize.  One of the largest spectacles in professional sports got us thinking a bit...when a client hires The Hire Connection, it's like WE are playing in the biggest game of the year.

Preparation and talent is key. Here's our strategy before each big game:

We watch "Game Film"

When a client hires THC, we look back at what has worked well for us and we REPEAT IT!  We watch the national landscape in the medical world and we stay on top of what motivates physicians; hiring patterns in various areas of the country, compensation data, and much more.  By watching this "Game Film" we can then use this information to prepare for the upcoming game (the campaign).

We put our "Game Plan" together

"Coach" Van Allen puts together a game plan with the goal of filling an opportunity as quickly as possible with the right candidate.  THC uses proven strategies and mobilizes our team of recruiters to utilize cutting edge data to locate and contact the candidates that may be a perfect fit for a clients medical facility needs.

We execute the right "Plays" with our Talented Team

THC  realized long ago that traditional "old school" methods of recruiting are not effective today.  We employ an "offensive scheme" that utilizes a wide range of technology including:

Voice Blasts

Text Blasts

Email Blasts

A Robust Social Media Campaign

Customized direct mail campaigns to both homes & offices

Your very own proprietary Landing Page that has video interactive capabilities

Our "2 Minute Offense" is one of the best around

We do all the attention to detail tasks required to closeout the game with a victory!  This includes:

Candidate Screening

THC will save your organization time, money and aggravation by carefully screening each candidate to ensure they meet or exceed your specific criteria.  In addition to securing candidates' CV/resume, your recruiter will go to great lengths to understand the professional and personal background of each candidate.  Along with candidate screening, your designated recruiter will learn about the entire family's needs, wants and interests.

THC provides the client with a detailed cover letter (narrative) that overviews both the candidate and their family.  THC provides its clients with the information they need and want to make the best possible selection and maximize time with the candidate and their family.

Background Check

THC conducts a thorough background check on each submitted candidate which consists of:

  • Licensure and Credentials
  • Board Eligibility & Certification
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Financial Background Check
  • 4-6 Professional References

 Pre-Close

Each candidate is asked a series of pre-closing questions to determine the candidate's interest level and availability for relocation.  This information is communicated to the client prior to a site visit or interview.

Candidate Phone Interview and Site Visit

THC can be as involved as you desire with candidate negotiations.  THC understands this can be a critical time in the recruitment process and works closely with its client to ensure a positive outcome!

Unlike some professional teams, The Hire Connection ALWAYS plays by the rules. You'll never find anything under-inflated with our team!

AND ... unlike the Super Bowl where there is a winner and a loser, with The Hire Connection you are ALWAYS winner ... thanks to our money back guarantee!

Yes, you heard us right.  We have the industries only money back guarantee.   That means that if we do not find you the right physician, we will give you back your money.  This makes us very different (and better) than other medical recruiting companies out there.  Let us explain further!!

Most reputable recruiting firms are going to have what we call a back-end guarantee.  We have that back-end guarantee as well.  Our back-end guarantee is going to be very similar to the industry standard that simply says, “If the physician we place with your opportunity falls off for any reason within 6 months of the physician’s start date, we will replace the physician at NO cost to you”.  That means if you terminate the candidate or the candidate resigns in the first 6 months of the start date, we will replace the candidate.

Enjoy the game and Give The Hire Connection a Call if we can take the field to find your next Candidate!

Vast majority of US Doctors are over-extended

80% of US Doctors feel they are over-extended or at Full Capacity

The Hire Connection found a survey of 20,000 physicians conducted by The Physicians Foundation, that shows that the vast majority of doctors are overworked or at their full capacity. This nonprofit organization seeks to advance the work of practicing physicians and facilitate delivery of healthcare to patients.  THC wanted to share some data and information on this startling statistic!

According to the research, titled “2014 Survey of America’s Physicians: Practice Patterns and Perspectives,” 81 percent of physicians describe themselves as either over-extended or at full capacity, while only 19 percent indicate they have time to see more patients.

Forty-four percent of physicians surveyed plan to take steps that would reduce patient access to their services, including cutting back on patients seen, retiring, working part-time, closing their practice to new patients or seeking non-clinical jobs, leading to the potential loss of tens of thousands of full-time-equivalents (FTEs).

As the ranks of Medicare and Medicaid patients increase – in 2011, more than 75 million baby boomers began turning 65 and qualifying for Medicare – and millions of new patients are insured through the Affordable Care Act, patient access to care could pose significant health delivery and policy challenges.

Some Key findings from the report

  • 81% of physicians describe themselves as either overextended or at full capacity, up from 75%in 2012 and 76% in 2008. Only 19% say they have time to see more patients.

  • 44% of physicians plan to take one or more steps that would reduce patient access to their services, such as cutting back on patients seen, retiring, working part-time, closing their practice to new patients, or seeking a non-clinical job, leading to the potential loss of tens of thousands of full-time-equivalents (FTEs)

  • 72% of physicians believe there is a physician shortage, that more physicians should be trained, and the cap on funding for physician graduate medical education be lifted.

  • 24% of physicians either do not see Medicare patients or limit the number of Medicare patients they see.

  • 46% of physicians give the Affordable Care Act a D or F grade, while 25% give it an A or B.

So what?

The predicted doctor shortage for the US is now a reality.  The aging baby boomer population, the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, and now the steps that physicians are taking to reduce patient access is troubling.

Hospitals, clinics, behavioral health centers, LTACs, private practice groups, FQHC’s and their decision makers will be finding an increasingly challenging environment to recruit top talent.  In addition, retaining that talent may also become an issue as physicians are feeling overworked.  Add in Obamacare and the implementation of ICD-10, and decision makers need more help that ever finding the physicians they need to stay competitive.

Social Media - The Hire Connection Taking Medical Recruiting to a New Level

Medical Recruiting - Adapt or Die

The Hire Connection is one of the most unique medical recruiting companies in the nation through it's use of technology.  When we recruit for your company, we use cutting edge methods to reach your potential candidates and we have written past blog posts about how we do this.  One area that has caught our attention over the past year has been the use of Social Media to get information out quickly to our potential clients and to those candidates we want to place in opportunities.

THC Social Media Channels:

YouTube - Video is the Content of Choice

Video has become the content of choice and will continue to dominate in 2015.  In August of 2014, Facebook surpassed YouTube in the number of video views via desktop machines.  As of September, 2014, Facebook attracted a BILLION video views per day, a roughly 30 fold increase since July.

The Hire Connection has embraced videos as a great medium to quickly convey to our potential candidates the information they want when looking at one of our opportunities.

Challenge for 2015 - YouTube is losing steam as other social media platforms are hosting videos on their own platforms.  The Hire Connection will continue to push the video medium across these other channels as well as YouTube.

Facebook - Still King, but Getting Seen is Getting Hard

The Hire Connection realized the tremendous popularity of Facebook and its possibilities for increasing reach and connecting with influencers in the recruiting world.  In 2014, Facebook made many changes, to include changing their Edge Rank algorithm in a big way.  The amount of business Facebook posts seen by fans in their newsfeeds took a dramatic drop.

The Hire Connection realized that with the drop in "organic" visibility for posts made on Facebook, paying for ads is now unavoidable.  When we advertise for an opportunity or have other information our fans want to see, we now pay for boosted posts on a regular basis and budget.  This ensures that our clients' searches will be seen by the widest range of people possible.

Challenge for 2015 - In 2015, other Social Media platforms like Twitter may now start with a "Pay to be Seen" model like Facebook.  Ad prices may also rise and our budget will need to rise with it.

Twitter - Keeping our THC Clients and Candidates Informed

The Hire Connection is utilizing Twitter to keep our followers in the know when hot new opportunities hit the street, and to cross promote our blog and other social media posts.  With mobile device use growing every day, THC realizes that Twitter may be the best way to reach these users.  Twitter also changed its platform design in April to better feature visual content, and THC has taken advantage of this by utilizing great visuals to drive home tweets.

Challenge in 2015 - Twitter will continue to grow paid advertising and THC needs to be positioned to take advantage of this.  As paid media becomes the norm, budgeting for paid media will become more important than ever

LinkedIn - The Facebook for Business Professionals

THC is using LinkedIn to reach our potential clients and candidates through both personal and business page followers.  We realized early on that building a following for our business LinkedIn page will help us grow credibility on this important B2B social media platform.  Van Allen, founder and owner of The Hire Connection also has been utilizing his extremely large personal connection network to help his clients with finding the right candidate.

Is LinkedIn important?  We think so, and here is why according to LinkedIn:
As of April, 2013, In the U.S. alone, LinkedIn surpassed 1 million Doctors and Nurses who have joined LinkedIn. They live and work everywhere from Allentown, PA to Wichita Falls, TX, and include thousands of specialists, like:
  • 1,600+ Otolaryngologists (ear, nose, and throat specialists)
  • 1,400+ Flight Nurses, (nurses with “aeromedical” training)
  • and 1,200+ brain surgeons!
Challenge in 2015 -  LinkedIn will unveil more tools to reach specific professionals in various regions.  THC must understand how best to utilize these tools and budget accordingly to leverage these options.

Google+ - An Important, but Little Understood, Platform

The joke about Google+ is that there are only Google executives on this platform.  This is far from the truth and the number of Google+ users grows everyday.  There are over one BILLION Google account holders, and each of these users have a Google+ account available to them.

One large reason that THC has a Google+ page is that social signals from this social media platform (actually from all of our platforms) have a positive effect and is weighed pretty heavily by the search engine giant.  This is also another platform that our potential clients can evaluate our credibility and learn about the recruiting services we offer.

Challenge in 2015 - The future of Google+ is unclear.  If this does become a social media platform of some importance, THC needs to be ready to leverage new visibility.

THC Blog - The Centerpiece of our Effort

Our Blog is the centerpiece of our Social Media engagement.  We publish twice a week with one blog typically being an opportunity we are featuring.  We cross promote the blog across all of our social media channels to increase readership and reach.  For our non opportunity blogs, we talk about current issues in recruiting, challenges that medical providers are facing, news about The Hire Connection, and other things that catch our interest.

Follow the THC Blog

You can rest assured that when you hire us to find the perfect candidate for your medical facility, The Hire Connection will leverage our experience, our connections, and our social reach to ensure we bring not only the RIGHT person to the table, but the BEST person.
